On more strike against the justice system…

…right here:

Another man must serve the rest of his life in prison for killing a Houston woman who was staying at a Bossier City motel in 2005.
Dwight Keith Bacon, 25, of Shreveport, pleaded guilty Monday to a charge of second-degree murder, which carries a mandatory life sentence, according to the Caddo district attorney’s office.

Tosha Lampkin, 30, was staying at David Motel while she and cousin Tonya Douglas were visiting family.
Lampkin was carjacked from the parking lot when she left the room to get something to eat about 3 a.m. April 22, 2005.
Douglas received a call about two hours later informing her their rental car had been found in Shreveport.
It had been torched and there was a body in the trunk.
Authorities said Lampkin had been raped and was alive in the trunk when the car was torched.

Bacon, who never before had been arrested, is the second man to be sentenced to life in connection with Lampkin’s death.
Brandon Davis, 25, of Bossier City, was convicted of first-degree murder in April 2008.
He raped and killed Lampkin less than two months after completing a five-year sentence for robbing and intimidating a 75-year-old woman.

Wow, five years for robbing and intimidating a 75-year-old woman. I don’t know how there could have been any doubt that punk would have been escalating his campaign of violence toward younger and stronger members of the population sooner or later. And I know the death penalty might well not be appropriate for robbery, but why could this guy not have been locked up longer than he was? Why is it that we let these people walk free in society when they’re so obviously untrustworthy? And why do anti-gunners not have a problem with this? Why don’t they demand gasoline and lighter/match licensing and registration too? And WHY would they want to make it so hard for people like the late Tonya Lampkin and this old woman to defend themselves? The lack of a gun certainly didn’t hinder Ms. Lampkin’s killers, eh?

I just watched Stolen Voices, Buried Secrets and I must say I was totally appalled during the entire show. The nerve of people to rob your beautiful cousin of her life. You spoke highly of your cousin and my heart goes out to you and your entire family. God Bless!

    • Alisha Says:

Thank the lord above,There were working camras to help crack this case open. The man she was in a brief relationship with was not the suspect very long. To think these cowards almost got away with doing this crime. Working Camras really need to be everywhere. Sorry for your loss.

Thank you I had no sisters and we stayed together at the time of her murder. We’d planned to stay together with husbands and Our children. When I lost her I lost apart of me. It’s like trying to walk again. She was such sweet person. She never judge or treat people bag just because of their life challenges. She did ask she could do. I’m determine to be able to live again. I love you angel.

    • Tasha Graves-Morgan Says:

I just saw the opening to your cousin’s murder on the ID channel. I can’t watch anymore. The pain in Tanya’s voice brought me to tears. I watch tons of shows about murder and am normally not affected so profoundly. Please accept my condolences on the loss of your absolutely beautiful cousin. Tanya, I cannot imagine what you’re feeling, but I can empathize with losing a cousin who’s also your best friend. I lost mine 10 years ago. May God give your family the strength to continue to do the good deeds that you say Tosha exemplified. May her two murderers rot in hell and be subjected to the same, no, worse torture on a daily basis. And to her mom Betty, your strength is a source of inspiration to all. The world thanks you for the gift of your daughter. May God continue to watch over you and the rest of the Lampkin and Douglas family. God speed!

    • Kim Says:

I just hate to think what you and your family has gone through…I hope and pray to God that you’ll were able to move on, which I know wasn’t easy…May God bless U, your family, and tosha’s son

kashuna i am so sorry for this disgraceful act against your cousin (Tosha) nothing will ever be the same again..my little cousin who i was raised with was murdered by my aunts boyfriend and he only received 5-7 yrs he was choked and beaten, at only three months old!!! you know why he said he did this to him, because he was crying..there is no justice for under- priviliged people. an i mean anyone who is not considered a millionaire. I hope they rot in hell. there mothers should not be able to see them, hold them or tell them they love them. they have a chance to ask GOD for forgiveness. this is is unfair. I continue to hurt all victims who can not have the justice they want. I chose to return back to school for Psychology. I have the need to help people, funny that most of my co-workers and classmates say I should go to law school. I make a good arguement and I defend people who cannot defend themselves.

Kashuna I just watched a program that profiled Your cousin’s murder……that was so senseless and evil. Angola is the right place for those 2 demons. Just straight up evil! My prayers are with you and Tosha’s family.

  4. Lisa Says:

I agree…just so senseless and sad. What a sad ending to such a beautiful woman. My prayers are with you and your family.

  5. sylvia Says:

May god’s grace, love and mercy cover this entire family. I declare and decree divine favor for tosha’s son.

  6. Harold Smither Says:

I saw the program about Tosha Marie Lampkin; God has a reason for everything. Tosha is truly in a better place. Tosha and I were the same age, born exactly eight months apart, same day 25th. The one thing that truly got me was that not only did she and I share a year of birth; In the same month and year (April 2005), six days after her passing, I myself was shot and nearly died after being attacked by a young man 25 years old. In seeing Tosha’s story, she reinvigorated my purpose in life. And truly brought to focus that second chances are gifts, not promised.
Though I know she is gone, the reason for the shine on her story is not only because of the beautiful person she obviously was (and is), but to make us all aware of how precious life is and that we must live it to the fullest, because we do not know when he will call us home.
To her son, do not let the loss of your mother ruin your life. Make it the reason for the song in your heart, the stride in your step, the joy for the purpose of living. That is what your mother desires for you. You do her memory a disservice in languishing in the misery that the evil perpetrated on her left on your heart. Fear not, let go and let Jehovah God do his work, his will be done!

    Amen.

    P.S.

I knew when I saw you two ladies (Tonya and Mom) standing at her graveside, that I had been there too…Houston Memorial Gardens, my mother is buried there not far from Tosha. Just a few degrees of separation….

I’m Tonya Douglas the cousin of Tosha Lampkin. These monsters stole 80 dollars from Tosha. She begged then for her life so she could raise her son. They had a gun they shot the gas tank hoping the car will blow up. It didn’t work the whole time she was telling them she would not tell on them just let her go.This has affected the whole family because she was the kindness person I know. She was an earth angel. Sure she wasn’t perfect but she wanted to help everybody. I love you Tosha and I miss you. Rest in peace. 😇💓💕💖💘💌💗💋💔❤💌💋😭

    • Ella Wright Says:

      Dear Tonya,

My apologies for contacting out of the blue like this and for reaching out via this forum. I have sent a letter to your home but I wasn’t sure if I had the correct address.

Firstly, I wanted to say that I am so very sorry for the loss of your cousin, Tosha, in 2005. I cannot imagine how difficult it must have been to lose Tosha in this way. I have read a lot about her case and I am extremely moved by it.

My name is Ella Wright, I am an Assistant Producer at Arrow Media, a UK-based television production company who are producing the third season of “See No Evil” for Discovery in the US.

“See No Evil” looks at how surveillance footage is used by investigators to solve serious crimes. Each story is told using a combination of interviews, real footage relating to the crime and some dramatic reconstruction.

As you’re aware, in Tosha’s case the surveillance footage was crucial in identifying the perpetrators’ vehicle, which led to their arrest and conviction. We feel this is an incredibly strong example of what an important resource surveillance footage can be for law enforcement agencies in solving crimes. We are therefore hoping to dedicate one episode of the new series to Tosha’s story.

It’s very important to us that those who knew and loved Tosha have a voice in the program, along with the law enforcement agencies involved in her case. We wanted to reach out to you, to initially inform you of our intention to produce an episode on Tosha, but also to see if you would be willing to speak with me on the telephone. This would be to hear your memories of Tosha – what kind of young woman she was, her hobbies and ambitions – so we have a better understanding and picture of her as a person. We would also like to ask about your memories of her disappearance and the subsequent investigation. There is no obligation to take part in the program at this stage.

I understand you will need time to consider my request

Please do let me know if you need any more information about the series or Arrow Media. I would be more than happy to send across links to previous episodes from the series if you would like. You can reach me via my email address at ella.wright@arrowmedia.com.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and I hope to head from you soon.

      Best wishes,
      Ella x

I think they shoulda got the excute they didnt give her a chance to live why should they live and eat of the tax payers money

  14. Christine Says:

I’ve just watched the crime details on British Television. My heart goes out to all her family and to her gruesome end to her beautiful life. God be with her. As to the two animals that killed her they should have been executed. They get to live a life it’s not fair! I pray to god they suffer a horrific end to their life’s and they rot in Hell. God bless all of Toshas family. Keep strong always.

  15. Kelly Says:

Like many others I too just saw this story on tv and felt compelled to reach out to Tosha’s cousin but…I don’t know what to say!
Why why why??? Why? What kind of filthy disgusting piece of sh*t human being does that? And, I don’t understand the life sentences. If any crime warranted the death penalty this did. Those guys are nothing more than savages who forfeited their right to live. Forgive me but they aren’t the sh*t that comes out of my dogs ass. What they did…their deliberate, evil intent was so depraved I can’t understand why their lives were spared. They are not people. They’re not.

I will never forget Tosha and when I think of her I’m going to think of the fun she was looking forward to and her smiling face in that photo and I hope beyond hope that she knows so so many people are with her.

  16. Kellie Says:

I just finished watching See No Evil and omgosh I wanted these 2 evil men to get the death penalty. In cases like this they shouldn’t be able to take a plea deal. They should be tried and given the either life or death but in this case death would have been the right choice! An eye for an eye! RIP Tosha. May your family and especially your son find the peace they need. God bless.

  17. Debbie Says:

Hi Tonya, I just saw the episode of “See No Evil” that was about Tosha. Watching the story made me so sad but so angry also. Those two so-called men deserved execution. My heart hurts so much, for you, Tosha’s son, and the rest of your family. I hope Tosha’s son will be ok and have as good of a life, as is possible, considering his tremendous loss.

  18. LaSharon cousar Says:

I have heard this story many times and each time I cry. I can’t believe they did not get the death penalty!!!! Such cruelty. How can someone be do cruel. Your family will always have my sympathies.

  19. nadia Says:

This is the second time i am watching this tragic crime. I wached it now on murder on cctv, and is as horrifing as the first time. i cried very much when i saw on the programm how much she begged them to live for the sake of her son. i am sure she is in a good place now but i dont understand why they didn,t give them the death penality. They didn,t give her a chance even for the sake of her belolved son, so why give them ???
They had their evidience i dont know why they give them a plea deal.
those evil bastard prison might not be so bad they should have been terrorized on the thought of death row as poor tosha did. i wish all of you, her family fought for this. To put those monsters to death. my prayer is with you. Let the almighty GOD gives you all the stength and especially you her son. Don,t let evil destroy you. Be sure she is in GODS hand. Cherish your mums good memory and trust she is with God now. Be strong, pray as it is God that will give you the strength to go through this. I will pray for you.GOD BE WITH YOU.

  20. shaunthebrummie Says:

how come no death sentence…if that young lady was my sister or mother..the davis and bacon families would cease to exist..scum that they are.

  21. Fidelis Says:

I just saw this on “See No Evil” I thank God for cameras. These bums should never have seen life to being with. How can someone be so heartless as to burn another human being alive? I believe the death penalty is an easy way out and prison is too lenient. Murderers like these should be tortured, then treated, then tortured again until their dying breath. This makes me so mad. I am so sorry Tosha’s family has lost such an amazing soul. May her spirit live on.

  22. Sherry D Pettis Says:

Hi Tonya Douglas, I saw an episode on the ID channel about the tragedy that was brought to you and your family at the hands of those two monsters, my heart had a pain as though I was connected to her, tears ran down my face as I cried to God. I have been watching this channel for awhile and this episode was one of the hardest one, I pray that your family is healing from what those monsters stole from you all.

  23. Little John Bozeman Says:

Imagine if 11 years ago, you would’ve used half the energy you spent pressing for more jail time for Bacon instead invested in PRISON REFORM. Bacon may have come out after his first sentence a better citizen with education/vocation programs, and intense, psychological counseling, rather than being released to the streets of Shreveport a better criminal.

You law and order frauds have no interest in taking a proactive approach to fixing the real problems in society to bring about order. You’d rather be reactive and waste tax payer money on supporting prisoners on longer sentences which contradics your so called, “fiscal conservative” beliefs since more money ends up being spent in the process.

Fix the root of the problem which starts even long before a crime is committed, but at minimum if prison was truly a place of reform, Bacon wouldn’t have been interested in robbing, raping and murdering Laquisha. This could be your daughter.

    • Little John Bozeman Says:

      CORRECTION: “…murdering Tosha”.

    • Kelly Says:

Forgive me but your fake “wokeness” is grotesque. You have no idea what proactive approaches anyone has taken and my guess is your total life actions are your comment above. Of course YOU work at a prison, am I right??? No? Then you work feverishly to change the laws, am I right??? No? Spare decent people your martyrdom.

A human being was burned alive. Burned alive! and the penalty should have been death.

Ted Bundy did not become who he was because of prison. In fact, prison came AFTER his 30+ murders. To you it’s poor poor Jeffrey Dahmer, right??? Oooops! he too murdered long before he ever saw a prison. Same with Gacy who molested a boy when HE was a young man, went to jail where he received EARLY release he was such a good, model prisoner. Ed Gein, and that animal Oba Chandler in Florida that offered a mother and two young daughters a boat ride and and then threw them overboard to drown with cinder blocks tied to them to weigh them down (after he raped the girls of course). He had the cinder blocks on the boat….ready! Danny Rolling anyone??? Did prison make him cut a young girls head off and place it on a cabinet facing her own decapitated body?

      Spare me.

Prison did NOT make a man burn alive another human being.
