I hope her family finds some consolation.

I saw the memorial service for Stephanie Brown on TV in the break room at work yesterday. Later on I told Sabra something to this effect:

This city is going to remember Stephanie Brown as a mother and a dedicated public servant who died doing what she loved to do. In the meantime, the man who killed her is not going to be remembered so fondly by so many people, to put it kindly. He’s going to be remembered as just another drunk who killed someone behind the wheel because of his own bad choices. I hope her family finds some consolation in that, as mean and heartless as it might sound.
