What’s good for the goose…

…is good for the gander. On the other hand, what’s bad for the goose is bad for the gander, too. If we’re going to cast a three-day waiting period for an abortion as an infringement on individual freedom, then the only intellectually consistent thing to do is to cast a three-day waiting period to buy a gun as the same thing.

But I am willing to bet money that every one of the people quoted here as opposing the waiting period for the abortion fully support things like waiting periods for gun purchases. You know, for teh childrenses. “If it only saves one life…”Without even the slightest awareness of the irony.

Freedom of choice…So long as it’s uninformed choice.

That’s not a bad idea, as long as it doesn’t get in the way of medical treatments. It’d be horrible to go in for a D&C and be sent home to hope you don’t hemorrhage for three days.
