Why is it full of lies?

Because O. Ricardo Pimentel says it is, apparently…

A buddy recently got an invitation from the NRA to join. Did I say invitation? I meant a hard-sell screed designed to scare him into joining. Why should my buddy join?

“Because your firearm freedoms and your hunting and shooting traditions are under attack like never before,” the letter said. “Powerful gun ban politicians like Hillary Clinton, Charles Schumer, Dianne Feinstein, Michael Bloomberg and Eric Holder stand ready to fight for a far-reaching agenda that will BAN hundreds of popular rifles, pistols and shotguns, LIMIT  the number of guns you can own, RATIFY a U.N. global gun ban treaty, BANKRUPT America’s gun makers and CLOSE our guns shops and shows.”

Pimentel said that letter his buddy got was full of lies, but never went on to say exactly why. It’s no big secret that the politicians named in that letter are among the biggest foes of private gun ownership in this country and have been since they were elected. And while it may be true that freedom has won here, keep in mind that 15-20 years ago everybody thought it was the gun controllers who were winning, what with the Brady law, the assault weapons ban and lawsuits filed against gun manufacturers left and right. The only thing that stopped the tide was the gun controllers overplaying their hand with the Assault Weapons Ban. And even after that was passed, after the Democrats got their asses handed to them, Dianne Feinstein said, “If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright ban, picking up every one of them, Mr. and Mrs. America, turn them all in, I would have done it.”

Sure, right now we may be able to own the guns they don’t want us to own, but all of that could change with a couple of elections and maybe some high-profile assassinations. I don’t know if the Gun Control Act of 1968 could have been stopped had it not been for the assassinations of the Kennedy brothers and Martin Luther King, Jr., but from what I remember reading those events did raise support for it.

Reasonable restrictions do not equal someone wanting to take away your hunting rifle.

Maybe not right now, but, again, anyone paying attention knows it will eventually come to that if the restrictions on the less-popular guns aren’t resisted. “First they came for the .50s. Then they came for the .338s…”

I have a .338 reworked Garand, she’s PRETTY TOO, that will put a bullet in the head of anybody that tries to take her from me. Hogs, politicians, stormtroopers…all in the same category to some of us.

Wanna play Feinstein and Stormtroopers vs .338 WinMag?

I bet they don’t and I’m old and in ill health so I don’t give one flying fuck about them but continuing to stick a thumb in their eye as long as possible.

Many of my friends DIED for us having the freedom we don’t have anymore. Many of us still alive sure as fuck want to keep the freedoms we have left, as little as they are…

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. A quick perusal of 20th century history demonstrates that gun control is insane.
