Another great tune from the ’60s…

So while we were eating at the Yard House out at The Shops at La Cantera the other day (I had pastrami sliders and beer, yum!), I heard an old song with this oh-so-1960s sound I loved but didn’t catch the lyrics because it was so loud in there. What stuck with me was the bass riff, which was strikingly similar to a hugely popular song that came out not quite a decade before. So I went home, googled “song with bass riff similar to Stand By Me,” happened upon a certain song’s Wikipedia entry, went off to YouTube with the title, and eureka! What a great, great song this is.

The Yard House’s taps are very impressive. I only just discovered it last month, and look forward to visiting more often.

Heh. That’s about when we were there, too! The entrees are crazy expensive, but I’m sure they’re worth it. I almost went with the Shiner Bock on tap, but Sabra suggested a couple of others and we went with the Stone Smoked Porter. It’s a dark, bitter beer, very good for sipping.
