So would there be talking? Or spitting and punching?

Geoff Tate, on VH-1 Classic’s “That Metal Show” with Eddie Trunk:

I’d like to sit in a room with those gentlemen and have them tell me face to face what the situation is. Explain their actions. I’d like to know and actually understand their point of view. I’d like to see them talk to me face to face rather than through the Internet. Communication is a big part of any relationship, right? If nobody’s talking, then nothing’s getting settled. My door’s open!

Really. He really said this. One wonders who he’s trying to fool here. It’d be interesting to see how many of the folks who watch TMS really know what’s been going on with the band over the last few months. Looks like Tater was gambling that not many of them did.

At any rate, though, it’s not as if the situation and the guys’ point of view is not known. Scott, Whip, and Eddie pretty much fleshed out the situation and made their points of view known in the declarations they submitted for the lawsuit. And really, get in the same room with Geoff again? After he punched them and spit on them? How exactly does he think that’s going to work?

How does Geoff Tate think any of this is going to work out, for that matter? He’s already signed a solo record deal. the time spent recording and promoting those records would be yet more time not spent on Queensryche. And they have to eat and keep a roof over their heads, too. One wonders what exactly Tate hopes to accomplish with all this…
