Your sad irony for the day.

Heard this song on the radio this morning, and I thought, you know, that’s a better song about small-town life than most of these Southern rural hacks have been foisting on country music for the last few years, and it was done by an Indiana rocker.

Another song from that album has been featured in this space before. I think I should get it…

    For the most I like John Mellencamp…despite some of his politics. I’d like him more if he wasn’t part of the endless loop of two-dozen pieces that have been adopted by most of the radio stations in this vicinity.

    That said, Jack & Diane is on my ever-growing lists of songs that ought to be scrubbed from existence.

      Oh, you mean the only JM song terrestrial radio plays anymore? Yeeeeah, same for me.

    Right up there with Steve Miller Band’s The Joker and…pretty much anything by Journey or Elton John, really.

    Terrestrial radio is the audio equivalent of an automated pool skimmer.
