How Machiavellian of them.

One might also call this ingenious:

A bill named after slain Immigration and Customs Enforcement special agent Jaime Zapata that would direct $102 million to law enforcement efforts at the U.S.-Mexico border was passed by a House panel Thursday.

Once again, hey, no mention of Project Gunwalker and its role in Jaime Zapata’s death!

But this does evoke thoughts of an interesting scenario. You’ll remember a little while ago I speculated here that Gunwalker might well have been a scheme cooked up by the ATF to push for yet more gun control. Well, you might take that a step further and say that it was a scheme by the ATF to get more funding and more power…you know, to “enforce the existing gun laws.” You’ll note that this money is going to the Border Patrol instead of the ATF. But could a bill providing more money to the ATF be that far behind?
