Because he had been to prison four times before, including a trip as recently as 2008, Murphy faced a sentence of between 25 years and life.
Been to prison four times? Why the hell did they let him out the first time?
Oh, he probably couldn’t legally get a gun, so what was the harm, right?

S##t, maybe we should ban family BBQs in Texas; a classmate of mine shot and killed his father when they invited him out to their place near Austin a couple months back. Granted, the boy had been having some very serious mental issues, and blamed his dad and brother for his *believed* problems. Now, how he got the pistol he used, I don’t know, tho I’m sure the police have looked into that thoroughly, since he HAD been locked up for a mental breakdown last year.
